The grey era came with a great number of track options and accessories. Most were released in 1980, including this set 7859.

A-Model

The grey era came with a single design for points (or railway switch), in which one single track branches off, and starts running parallel with, the main track. This design came in left (branching off to the left) and right (branching off to the right) versions. This set 7859 contains a single left points suitable for 12V train sets. The points in this set are controlled remotely through a controller powered by the 7864 transformer. The set also comes with the required sleeper plates, including a shorter 2x6 sleeper plate to fit the curved part of the points.

A set of manually controlled left and right points was available as set 7856, an identical remote controlled right switch was available as set 7858. This set was available from 1980 all the way to the end of 1990.
